I am a PhD student in Rhetoric and Composition at Purdue University, where I also teach professional writing. I'm currently working on my dissertation, which deals with narrative and trauma. Other research interests include: feminist theory, new media, digital writing, and technical writing.
Last week I got the Kindle 2.0. I was psyched about its release and have been comparing the old Kindle with the new one. I'm working on a review comparing the two, but for now I have a note on Amazon's Kindle customer service. It rocks. My Kindle 2.0 was injured during my fall. (See previous post for details.) I called customer service and they walked me a through troubleshooting techniques, which were unsuccessful. Then, to my infinite surprise, the customer service representative said that he would be sending out, via one-day air, a replacement Kindle that day (Friday). I should receive it tomorrow (because of the weekend). They'll also be sending me a pre-paid postage label to send my current Kindle 2.0 back to them. This is some of the best customer service ever. I didn't have to wait to talk to someone and a solution was arrived at within less than five minutes. If nothing else, I can highly recommend their customer services.
